Issue:

How do I modify the connection speed setting in Windows Media Player?

Solution:
To change the "Connection Speed" setting in Windows Media Player (WMP):
  1. Launch Windows Media Player.
  2. Select the "Tools" menu.   If the menus in WMP are hidden (hiding the menus is an option in WMP), right mouse click in the WMP title bar and select the option "Show Menu Bar."
  3. Select the "Options" menu item.
  4. Select the "Performance" Tab in the Options dialog.
  5. In the "Connection Speed" section, choose a connection speed that closely matches the available bandwidth provided by the Internet connection.   Some trial and error may be necessary.
  6. Click the "Apply" button and then the OK button to apply the changes.
  7. Close WMP and all browser windows.
  8. If the setting change was made to improve message playback, view a video message to see if playback has improved.
